This blog section is about memory foam mattresses in particular (as is this site) and mattresses in general.
Amerisleep is a relatively new mattress brand in the North American mattress and bedding market. It is part of One Mall Group (OMG), a marketing corporation based in Scottsdale, Arizona, which also owns the Astrabeds brand of latex mattresses. OMG states, “Our most recent addition, Amerisleep.com, offers American made memory foam mattresses, adjustable beds, and accessories with emphasis on value and philanthropy.”
ayla Sleep is described as a “family owned” mattress manufacturer. It is located in Fremont, California, but the manufacturing is in Phoenix, Arizona. It features copper-infused memory foam, Thermo-Gel in the cover, and two firmness levels in one mattress.
South Bay International has commendable design innovations in the Wedge Edge and the Air Channel Support Base, joining many other developments since the development of memory foam and the introduction of memory foam mattresses. However, the use of 3-lb. memory foam compromises the durability of the mattress.
Still relatively new, the OSO Mattress has had a good customer response so far, which is likely the product of being designed and made by a company whose innovative mattress design has been well-received.
Overall, judging by customer reviews and independent reviewers, if you want an all-latex mattress, the Spindle Mattress is a good one for the price. Spindle does let you know if, by your measurements, sleeping position, and preferences, the Spindle Mattress might not be your best option.
Classic Corporation began making waterbeds in 1971. This was 20 years before the introduction of memory foam mattresses. Classic Corp. rode the wave to the top as the leading producer of fluid support for sleep. The peak of the wave was in 1987, when 22% of mattress sales in the United States were waterbeds. Waterbed sales, including Classic’s, was still a sizable portion of the American mattress market in 1992, when Sweden’s Fagerdala World Foams established Tempur-Pedic in Lexington, KY to market tempur (memory foam) mattresses in North America. By the end of the decade, sales of waterbeds had declined significantly.
Lucid is still a Linenspa brand, but the current trend is for manufacturers to give key brands websites of their own.
The name of this memory foam mattress suggests that it will lull a person to sleep. Judging by customer reviews, a majority of owners feel like that is what it does. That is what Lull CEO Sven Klein wanted when he and his wife shopped for a new mattress.
Michael Hughes founded PlushBeds in 2007 in California. It was incorporated in 2015. It is one of the senior companies when it comes to making and selling boxed mattresses online.
In an interview with Joe Auer of review site Mattress Clarity, Michael Hughes of PlushBeds said he and his wife had trouble finding an environmentally friendly mattress in local stores, so they looked up mattresses online. Very few websites, like those of Tempur-Pedic and other established brands, were well done with good information (but high-priced). Lesser-known brands were inconsistent, unreliable, and not original.
