Mattress Reviews

MemoryFoamMattress.org is proud to offer foam mattress reviews and ratings to help you make an informed decision when buying a memory foam mattress. With the help of Dr. Rick Swartzburg, D.C., a chiropractor and VP of Development for Relief-Mart (manufacturer of Selectabed, TempFlow, and Snuggle-Pedic mattresses),  we have reviewed the material on the following mattresses and even tested some of them personally. The result: A better understanding of what they are really selling and whether they really offer what they claim. Keep in mind that some of these companies may not give out important information like ILD ratings, but you can and should inquire before making the purchase. If you have any questions regarding any memory foam or other foam mattress types, you can contact Dr. Swartzburg personally.

Tempflow Gaia

When it comes to firmness, the 9” high Gaia is the middle model memory foam mattress by Tempflow, a division of Selectabed. Its feel is compared to the TEMPUR-Cloud Supreme by TEMPUR-Pedic (the TEMPUR-Cloud Supreme is being replaced by…

Tempflow Copia

Supportive Luxury in a Memory Foam Mattress Copia has been a Tempflow model for a long time, at least since before 2011 when it was named in a magazine article. It is one of four 11” high memory foam mattresses in this brand – the other current models are 9” high....

Tempflow Celestia

A major pro for the Celestia, and also for the other Tempflow models, is the affordability, especially in contrast to the comparable TEMPUR-Pedic mattress.

Tempflow Selene

The 9” high Selene (named after the Greek Moon goddess) is the second firmest of the nine current Tempflow mattresses, slightly less firm than the Essence. It is also tied with Eros for the highest number of reviews (all positive) across different platforms. It is compared to TEMPUR-Pedic’s TEMPUR-Contour Elite, which is being replaced by the TEMPUR-LuxeAdapt Firm.

Tempflow Essence

The 9” high Tempflow Essence Mattress is the firmest of the current nine models of memory foam mattresses made under the Tempflow brand. There had been a firmer model, the 8” Eclipse, but it is no longer listed. It has a comparable feel to the…

Tempflow Eros

Tempflow's Firm Luxury Mattress Eros is the second softest of the Tempflow mattresses, being rated as “Plush,” second only to the “Extra Plush” Celestia. It is one of four 11” high models; the others are Celestia, Copia, and Opulence. Eros, as are all Tempflow...

Serta

Serta began during the Great Depression. In 1931, several mattress companies joined together to make and sell mattresses, the same models under one brand. In 1933, the coalition adopted the name Serta. This would bring name recognition and enable national advertising.

Brooklyn Aurora

The Brooklyn Aurora is the high end mattress model by Brooklyn Bedding, while Brooklyn Bowery is the entry-level model, and Brooklyn Signature (the flagship model) is in the middle.

Brooklyn Signature

Brooklyn Bedding (BB) began 2018 with a different mattress, the Brooklyn Signature. BB billed this as an update or revision of its flagship model, #BestMattressEver: “The #BestMattressEver just got better.” However, this has been challenged by some mattress reviewers, who consider this as more than a revision, or even a renovation, but a new model replacing the former one.

Flex-Tech Mattress Series

A Different Kind of Hybrid Flex-Tech, the newest mattresses by Selectabed, are tagged as “pillowtop hybrids.” Mattresses that are hybrids are usually either (1) a combination of a high section of foam comfort layers with an innerspring base, or (2) a combination of...
